Austin Eastciders Coming to Tennessee

Founded in Austin, Texas in 2014 by Ed Gibson and Mark King, Austin Eastciders has taken off as one of the fastest growing cider brands in the country. Having recently opened an additional 33,000 square-foot cidery just down the street from their original space, Austin Eastciders is growing fast to meet rising demands. The company has expanded from 9 employees in 2015 to nearly 50 and has quadrupled production with canning lines capable of spitting out 90 cans per minute.

Even with all the growth, Austin Eastciders is staying faithful to what made them successful in the beginning: apples. The bittersweet variety used was largely wiped out during Prohibition because they didn’t taste palatable for anything but cider – so Eastciders import them from Turkey and Europe where the co-founder and CEO are originally from. Their goal is to create a more euro-style cider that is drier and lower in sugar. And their mission is to prove to U.S. drinkers that cider doesn’t have to be sweet.

We are proud to announce that Cherokee Distributing will soon carry Austin Eastcider brands. More information is to come. Expect to see the cider around mid-June.
