There is always something unique on tap in Knoxville, and the Dogwood Arts Rhythm N’ Blooms festival is one of our annual favorites. Samuel Adams is the presenting sponsor of the three-day musical extravaganza, and we are proud to be the distributor of its fine products from the flagship Boston lager to Tetravis to Rebel IPA.

Rhythm N’ Blooms runs April 4-6 and offers a wondrous mix of storied songwriters, jazz, bluegrass, indie and other musical genres to present a regional blend of community and culture. Headlined by the soothing sounds of indie artist Brett Dennen and Knoxville’s very own treasure, The Black Lillies, Rhythm N’ Blooms is the perfect way to open the month of April.
The festivities get underway Friday, April 4. Music enthusiasts can head to the Jackson Avenue Viaduct Stage to catch Rhythm N’ Blooms first act, David Mayfield Parade at 6 p.m. David Mayfield has performed alongside Mumford & Sons, The Avett Brothers and other notable acts. Mayfield’s sheer charisma and extensively eclectic songbook will be the perfect start to a weekend filled with talent. The music will flow throughout the evening until the last act, Dangermuffin, takes the stage at Barley’s Taproom at 1:15 a.m.
Saturday will be an all-day adventure. Free workshops for musicians will be held at Boyd’s Jig & Reel in the Old City starting at 1 p.m. In addition, more artists from every genre will perform throughout the day and evening at various locations throughout the Old City. For music that will move you, check out R&B/soul group, Alanna Royale on the Jackson Avenue Viaduct Stage at 3 p.m. The incredible artistry doesn’t stop there. Full of fresh character, the breezy, bluesy sounds of The Wild Feathers will fill The Standard at 1 a.m.
The charm of Rhythm N’ Blooms continues Sunday as we soak in the beauty of East Tennessee. The festival spends the afternoon and evening at the Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum from 1 to 10 p.m. Savor a day filled with all the best Knoxville has to offer – great music, good food and, of course, ice cold beer.
