Knox Beer Week pours something for everyone

KCBW_logo_2015_180What begins with a Taste of Tennessee, ends with Brewfest 2015 and has pint nights, throw downs and food pairings in between?

Knox Beer Week, which feels like Christmas in June for beer drinkers.

The mission of Knox Beer Week, which is held June 13-20, “is to promote the availability, diversity and enjoyment of craft brewed beer … through education, camaraderie and responsible fun.”

Cherokee Distributing Company endorses all three components.

The week features multiple events that benefit great causes and spotlight those pubs and breweries responsible for promoting the craft beer industry.

You can check out details on all the activities on the Knox Beer Week website, Twitter and Facebook page. The event calendar includes happenings all across town.

For example, the opening event is a Taste of Tennessee at the Market Square Farmers’ Market, which raises money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee. It will be held on Saturday, June 13, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in conjunction with the downtown Farmers’ Market.

The official close of the week is the 5th Annual Knoxville Brewfest, which will be held downtown along the Gay Street Viaduct and Depot Avenue from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. The ticketed event is a benefit for Cure Duchenne, a national nonprofit that raises awareness and funds to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

In between are fun events from Craft Fight Nights held on several weeknights at Barley’s Taproom & Pizzeria to “CAN You Dig It?” on Tuesday at Sweet P’s Downtown Dive.  And in the utterly decadent category is Craft Beer & Cookie Dough at The Casual Pint in Bearden throughout the day on Wednesday.

The entire week is a celebration of craft beer and supports so many local pubs and bars – many of which Cherokee Distributing is proud to call friends, clients and partners – along with great nonprofits that help our community.

Cherokee Distributing Company salutes everyone involved and hopes to see beer drinkers all over town having fun, and, as always, drinking responsibly.

Cheers to Knox Beer Week!
