Three cheers for Wolf Hills Brewing

troopersWe want to raise a toast – actually we will raise three toasts – to Wolf Hills Brewing Co., which won three medals at the United States Open Beer Championship, a prestigious competition that draws worldwide participation.

Wolf Hills Brewing Co., is one of our excellent suppliers. Located in historic Abingdon, Virginia, the brewery crafted its name from a story that pioneer Daniel Boone and his dogs sought refuge along a hill after encountering a pack of wolves with a den in a nearby cave and named the wilderness area Wolf Hills.

The beer championship’s winners were announced July 4 in Atlanta, Georgia, by judges from the United States, England, Canada and Finland.

Wolf Hills earned gold, silver and bronze medals. The gold medal was awarded for White IPA in the Out of Bounds IPA Category, with silver honors for White Blaze Honey Cream Ale in the Cream Ale Category, and bronze designation for Ordinary Bitter in the Bitter Category.

The championship drew more than 3,000 entries of beer and cider in 81 categories, so Wolf Hills had incredible competition, making the awarding of three medals even more impressive for the craft brewery.

The company’s motto is: “You’ll be howling for more.” Wolf Hills Brewing certainly delivered on that promise!
