Chimay Première – also called Chimay Red due to the red packaging of the bottle – is the oldest beer brewed by Chimay – its roots trace to 1862 when the Trappist monks at Scourmont Abbey in Belgium made their first ale. This dark ale, known as “The Original,” has a coppery color and sweet, fruity taste.
This ale pairs best with À la Chimay Première cheese
