Colt 45

Colt 45 was created more than four decades ago as a malt liquor for the blue-collar worker. The brew was introduced in 1963 by Baltimore’s National Brewing Company to compete with Country Club, the only other malt liquor product on the market. The name Colt 45 denotes the “extra bang” drinkers receive from the higher alcohol content. Colt 45 is an amber-colored beer brewed in the style of the American lager. The smooth, robust flavor of Colt 45 along with flavorful extracts of malted barley and corn make it the beer that “works every time.”
