Have you ever seen the ivy lining the outfield at Wrigley Field? Watched the Red Sox battle the Yankees from on top of the Green Monster? Gazed at the Los Angeles skyline from Dodger Stadium?
If not, it’s time to hit the road this summer and take a tour of the MLB’s most scenic stadiums. Cherokee Distributing Company is proud to distribute some of baseball’s best beers nationwide and wants you to fit in with the hometown fans. Don’t stand out among the crowd ordering Coors in Chicago or Miller Lite in Boston — do as the locals do and enjoy the complete local experience.
Before you head to the concession stand, make sure to check out this list:
Boston: Fenway Park is one of the toughest tickets in the league, so plan your trip early and watch one of baseball’s most famed teams with a Sam Adams in hand. Sam Adams makes a wide variety of summer beers, so give the seasonal Summer Ale or Cherry Wheat a try while belting out Sweet Caroline in the eighth inning.
Chicago Cubs: Baseball’s second oldest park is renowned for many reasons, and the local fare certainly is among them. A famous Chicago dog is a great starter paired with an Old Style Draft while sitting with the Bleacher Bums. It’s sure to be an experience of a lifetime. You won’t catch Old Style available in every bar, but for those of you in Knoxville, you can make up for your Wrigley blues watching future Cubs’ stars in action with a cold one at a Tennessee Smokies game.
Colorado: There’s only one choice for beer in the Rockies: a cold Coors Light. Just make sure the mountains are blue before downing one with your Rockie Dog from a mile high.
Houston: A Texas beer while in Texas is the way to go. Brewed in Shiner, Texas, Shiner Bock will be fresh for your stop in Minute Maid Park. Though you’ll want to avoid being on the tracks when the train rolls by after an Astros home run!
Los Angeles Dodgers: Dodger Stadium has seen a revival in 2012 thanks to new ownership, so you can take down a Dodger Dog and Tecate with a packed stadium to see the surging club. Who knows what Hollywood star you might see sitting next to you doing the very same.
Milwaukee: No more appropriate beer to drink in Miller Park than a Miller, is there? Be sure to arrive early with your grill because the parking lot will be full of faithful tailgaters prior to the game. Of course brats are the food of choice in Milwaukee, so buy in bulk!
San Diego: Down by the border, Pacifico and fish tacos are the only choice at a Padres game. You may not see too many other fans at the game, but there will be plenty to do after in the Gaslamp Quarter.
San Francisco: Barry Bonds won’t be stepping up to the plate anymore to knock a home run into the Bay, but the Giants pitching is well worth the price of admission. So is the Sierra Nevada on tap at AT&T Ballpark. Just make sure to bring a jacket at night when the Bay breeze rolls in!
Seattle: Celebrate the Mariners most well known player (Ichiro) with a Sapporo in Safeco Field. While on the Pacific Coast, take advantage of the fresh seafood and pair your beer with fresh sushi, too. It’s an experience that will be tough to replicate anywhere else!
Toronto: Don’t be fooled by the shape of the diamond, there is baseball in Canada. When in Toronto, watch the rising Blue Jays with a Labatt Blue or Molson Ice, and you’ll feel right at home. If you book far enough in advance, you don’t even have to leave your hotel room to watch the game in the Rogers Centre, too.
Now that you have 10 stops on your summer tour planned, gas up the car, stock up on your Red Bull, get going and thank us later.
