Blackstone Brewery comes to Knoxville

Posted on April 9, 2012 by Mary Ellen Brewington

Nashville’s most popular homegrown beer, Blackstone, is now available in East Tennessee. Established in 1994, Blackstone Restaurant and Brewery makes full-flavored, award-winning craft beers, winning five World Beers Cups and nine Great American Beer Festival awards.

Cherokee Distributing Company is thrilled to now distribute the brewpub’s four prized craft brews in East Tennessee:

• Nut Brown Ale (English-Style Brown Ale)
• St. Charles Porter (Brown Porter)
• APA (American Pale Ale)
• Chaser Pale (Kölsch)

Blackstone Brewery products can be found in your local groceries, beer markets and restaurants. Check out these photos of those delicious brews headed out to a neighborhood store or pub by you:

Blakstone recently completed a state-of-the-art brewing and bottling facility in Nashville. Last week a few Cherokee Distributing Company employees and friends had the pleasure of touring the facility with Kent Taylor, founder and owner of Blackstone Brewery.

Here’s Kent telling us about the meticulous traditional methods and ingredients used in the Blackstone brewing process:

Here are some photos of the malted barley and fermentation tanks used in that Blackstone brewing process:

For any East Tennesseans who are visiting Nashville, we encourage you to stop by the Blackstone Restaurant and Brewery to get a firsthand look – and taste – of a homegrown Tennessee brew. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, and brewery tours are available by calling ahead. The brewpub sells 64-ounce growlers and full kegs in addition to beers on tap.

But if you aren’t traveling to Nashville any time soon, don’t fret! Now you can pick up your favorite Blackstone bottled beer right here in East Tennessee.

Cheers from Cherokee Distributing!
